Getting cold in New England with Stoney bologna

Winter is in full effect here in the North East. It has been crazy here in NH. We had no snow then snow then rain then snow then rain and snow then snow and rain and then a temp drop and a temp spike. It is like living on that asteroid from Armageddon. I have been trying to ride as much as possible on my budget while still saving money for Vegas at the end of the month. I took this above pic at the Waterville mountain lodge. I had taken a spill the previous run when a family of skiers decided stand in the middle of a blind corner x-cut path. I wiped out trying to avoid them. 200+lbs of whale body going 50 mph+ around a sharp corner carving like a prime rib station isn't so easy to stop. I saw them and tried to stop only to catch an edge and cartwheeled like a gymnast into a perfect 10 out of 10 faceplant. Looking back I should have creamed them like Peter North. The only thing I broke was the pill bottle in my pocket that had pre-rolled joints inside of it. The damn thing broke up like the challenger space shuttle when I fell. My pocket was full of orange & white plastic shards and Stephen Hawking joints. I un-crooked one of them and somehow got it smoking somewhat proper.

The very next weekend we had one of the coldest days that I can remember. It was Valentine's Day and I am taking negative 10 degrees in the open sun. I wouldn't have mind going that day but it is hard to get other people to drive and hour and a half and spend 83 bucks on a Sunday to freeze their balls off. I spent the day home and actually everything went VERY well.

Look what the little woman got me. SOUR CANDY FOR DAYS. The bag of sour patch kids had ZERO chance of surviving one week. The cry babies and nerds rope were lucky they made it out of the package. I also got a card from her that had R2D2 on it so I was happy. I love that little dude always beeping and shit.

I didn't do too bad myself with the old broad. I was lucky enough that is Valentine's day was on a Sunday and that is was negative degrees outside. She didn't even put up a fuss about going to dinner or anything. I lucked out BIG time. Going to a restaurant on Valentine's day is right up there on the list of shit I hate doing. The cold worked to my advantage this time. I did have to go out in the cold like a sucker to get the gifts though. I got the girl a dozen roses (cheap ones from Shaws, don't be a sucker and order frozen ones online for 3x the price), chocolates, ribeye steaks cooked to perfection, a big piece of meat and some ice cream. yep ice cream. Why?

Overall you could say the winter is gong OK. The Celtics are decent (even though) they didn't do dick at the trade deadline. Bruins are up and down like a rest stop hooker. Red Sox have nowhere to go but up. (ill take it.) Pats are doing still doing their patriot thing but at least we don't have to worry about someone benching our QB. I am not a huge college hoops fan but the games are on all the time and it seems like a decent excuse to drink so I may be watching way more games in the near future. I will try to fit it in even though I have a shitload of stuff to do this upcoming month that includes two more ski trips and 4 days in Vegas. If I see or do anything raunchy I will be sure to let you all know.
